Cuba - Day 3
ByThe Lord has been gracious to us during our time in Cuba. Our travel was safe. We had a hiccup in Cancun as we did not have copies of our religious visas with us. Nevertheless, we were able to receive faxed copies which sufficed. We entered Havana safely and without incident. Our hosts have been most gracious.
We spent our first night in the Havana Libre Hotel - the former Havana Hilton. You can tell at one time it was the top of the line (1959). Yesterday we traveled to Santa Clara (three hours). We had a wonderful lunch with our brothers there (at 5:00 p.m.). The graduation ceremony was a blessing. The seminary graduated 18 students. We were blessed to be a part of the service.
Today we will encourage the brothers in Santa Clara and tonight we will eat in their homes. Continue to pray for us. We are all well. Pray for us and for our families back home. May God continue to grant much grace to the Cuban church.

This is an amazing experience! They are a joyous people, without privilege. It really makes you look inward at what consumes our lives. As a blessed nation, people and church, we must give of ourselves and remove the distractions that prevent us from advancing the Gospel of Christ. I have been brought to tears with the desperate conditions they are subjected to. Nevertheless, they have joy, smiles, songs and earnestness.
Watching the worship team “practice” yesterday, they were WORSHIPING!
They have opened their hearts and home to us. So gracious. We can do so much more to support their mission, and hopefully sure them up with prayer and reaching out with action.
Keep us in prayer as Juan requests. Let us move in the Spirit and not driven by emotion.
